Over the weekend, The Gambia OIC Secretariat took the media on a tour to OIC project sites.
The exercise is part of ongoing efforts to keep the public updated about the progress of all OIC projects.
The tour was led by the Chief Executive Officer of the OIC Secretariat, accompanied by the Managing Director of the National Roads Authority, officials from the Ministry of Works, and the senior management of both NRA and OICGAMBIA.
The sites toured include the Bertil Harding Highway, Lot 1 and 2 of the 50km Urban Roads project, and the airport VVIP lounge.
The exercise availed journalists the opportunity to engage both the contractors and consultants for the projects on issues such as progress, deliverables, and timeline.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Secretariat, Mr. Yankuba Dibba described the exercise as timely and expressed his delight at the progress of work. He called on the public to continue to be patient with the Secretariat as it fulfills its mandate.
He added that the Secretariat and stakeholders including the government of The Gambia are fully committed to delivering all the projects in a timely fashion.
