Officials of the Gambia OIC Secretariat, headed by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Yankuba Dibba, The Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Ebrima Sillah, The Managing Director of the National Roads Authority, Mr. Momodou Senghore and contractors over the weekend conducted a site visit to two ongoing OIC projects, the VVIP Airport Lounge and the Bertil Harding Highway.
The visit started at the VVIP Airport Lounge where the Stakeholders were given an insight into the current progress of works. Minister Sillah expressed satisfaction on the status of progress at the Ultra- Modern Lounge. He reiterated the importance of the project and the impact its completion would have to the overall progress of the projects.
Mr. Yankuba Dibba, The Chief Executive Officer expressed his contentment with the progress of the works as it will be the first OIC project to be completed this year.
The team proceeded to the 22km Road Project of the Bertil Harding Highway, where a dual six-lane carriage is in construction.
Mr. Momodou Senghore the Managing Director of the National Roads Authority (NRA) gave a breakdown on the purpose of the roads and expressed satisfaction with the progress.
“Works have picked up rapidly as the rain season has come to an end. We are expecting to see rapid progress on the construction of the six-lane dual carriage as well as the flyovers at Yundum and Turntable”, Mr. Senghore said.
